Since its founding in 1880, the Society of Biblical Literature has worked to develop and provide access to resources and tools for those engaged and interested in biblical scholarship. Below you will find resources for students, researchers, teachers, and others.

The Syllabus Collection
SBL and the American Academy of Religion led separate efforts to collect syllabuses relevant to their members. Those efforts have been discontinued in favor of collaboration with the Wabash Center for Teaching and Learning. Wabash is a leading resource for teaching and research development and resources for faculty.
Teaching Collaboration and Mentoring Program
SBL maintains a
set of lists that facilitate faculty cooperation, including exchange and co-supervision among scholars and institutions in different parts of the world.
Teaching the Bible in the Classroom
On SBL's
Bible Odyssey the world’s leading scholars share the latest historical and literary research on key people, places, and passages of the Bible in accessible, media-rich ways perfect for use in the classroom.
Working with the Media Guidelines
SBL and ASOR are committed to helping our members respond responsibly and well to the tremendous public interest in archaeology, biblical studies, and the ancient Near East. We hope this guide is a helpful step in that direction.
